Initially founded in 2007 in California, International Beer Day was set up, according to the creators, “to gather with friends and enjoy the taste of beer, celebrate those responsible for brewing and serving beer, and to unite the world under the banner of beer.” Beer has a rich history in many different cultures all over the globe, going back thousands of years. Beer is one of the oldest alcoholic beverages in human history, and is believed to have first been brewed over 4000 years ago. Though, new evidence suggests humans may have been fermenting grains into beer even longer. International Beer Day 2023 aims to bring beer lovers of all nationalities together, to appreciate the diversity of people, beer types and brewing techniques.
