Defibrillator Launch

WE DID IT! 🎉

EZ Hampers would like to say a big thank you everyone who donated even the smallest of their spare change to this community defibrillator. Everyone in the local community should be very proud of themselves for coming together to raise money for this AED. Many local businesses were instrumental in making this happen so we would like to thank them as well.

This defibrillator will be installed between EZ Hampers and Kickback Coffee, and be available 24 hours a day. The defibrillator will be unveiled by Trafford’s Mayor, Amy Whyte at 1PM on Saturday 19th of October. Drinks and nibbles will be provided to celebrate the grand unveiling.

Why does the Bridgewater Canal Need a Defibrillator?

AEDs have the potential to save the lives of cardiac arrest victims while rescuers wait for an ambulance to arrive. If defibrillation begins within 3-5 minutes of collapse, survival rates stand at around 50-70%. However, with each minute of delay, the chances of survival decrease by 10%. For this reason, it’s essential that the number of defibrillator locations increases so that members of the public have quick, easy access to them across the country.
