Last year, we celebrated International Women’s Day by sharing the history behind the event and talking about the women who inspire us. Last year, the theme was ‘DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality’. The theme for International Women’s Day this year is ‘Inspire Inclusion’ which aims to influence others to understand and value women’s inclusion, and also to get women themselves to be inspired to be included. For this International Women’s Day 2024, we wanted to highlight some of the fantastic women-owned businesses we support at EZ Hampers, and our brands that donate to charities that empower women all over the world. Diablesse Caribbean Rum
Diablesse Rum is a rum business that produces dazzlingly designed and uniquely flavoured rums, based on the Caribbean folk tale of La Diablesse. The owner of Diablesse, Cleo, is the first female rum maker in the UK to solely own their business. Diablesse Rum also supports and raises funds for the Young Women’s Trust, a feminist organisation that aims to reduce the economic inequality faced by many women in the UK. Thus far, Diablesse Rum have raised enough money for the Young Women’s Trust to provide 8 women aged 18-30 with career counselling.
Mishka Truffles
Mishka Truffles is a woman-owned business founded by Mikayla, originally from the Czech Republic. Why choose Mishka Truffles for your corporate or personal gifts? Lucky Bee Gin
Launched in 2020 by Katy & Stephen Moore, Lucky Bee Gin are a local gin company based in Sale. Katy is also a fitness presenter, having opened her own fitness studio in 2017, and has previously been a mentor, tutor, choreographer and presenter. Lucky Bee Gin distill a delectable range of gins, from their El Classico to unique flavours like Tutti-Frutti. Their distillery is based at their home, starting with a Copper still from Portugal called “Pat” named after Katy’s mum and now are using a 25L Turbo 500 and column condenser called “Ned” after Stephen’s mum.
