Each year, Saint Andrew’s Day is celebrated on the 30th of November. Saint Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland, however he is also the patron saint of Romania, Greece, Russia, Ukraine and Poland. He is known for being one of the first apostles of Jesus, and was crucified on an X shaped cross. This is represented by the white X on the national flag of Scotland.
Did you know?: Despite never having visited Scotland during his lifetime, relics of Saint Andrews body have, such as his kneecap, arm and even his finger bone!
