We’re sad to say that this is our final Supplier Spotlight! Click here to read our part 1, part 2 and part 3

Today’s Supplier Spotlight is with two of our favourite companies: Locksley Distilling Co. and ThinK Wine Group. Locksley Distilling Co. are a Sheffield gin business with a focus on making flavourful botanical gins, who place the environment and ethical business practices at the forefront of their company ethos. ThinK Wine Group are a Liverpool-based company that produces prosecco that is vegan, organic and completely delicious! Their range is also sugar conscious and provides great tasting drinks without the calories. We interviewed both companies and asked them to tell our blog readers a little more about themselves:

Locksley Distilling Co.

1. What does your company do?

“Our small batch, hand-raised gin is a smooth and truly delicious affair. We lovingly blend traditional botanicals with more delicate infusions of elderflower, dandelion and pink grapefruit, which makes for a distinctively unique gin.”

2. What is the essence of your service/product/company?

“Our mission is to inspire people to invest in REAL, and FAIR products, by creating beautiful, and delicious beverages. We will never be the biggest distillery, but aspire to be the best.”

3. What is your USP (Unique Selling Point)?

“Our Sir Robin of Locksley® Gin has always had points of differentiation, and the qualities that made us stand out from our inception continue to set us apart from an increasingly competitive crowd. In a nod to our geographical location, it is named in honour of a favourite Yorkshire lad and local Sheffield legend, Robin Hood. Here at Locksley Distilling we are super excited to open our distillery up to the world and welcome you inside to witness, taste and immerse yourself in all of our magic through our distillery tours and exciting experiences!”

4. What pain does your offering solve?

“With Sir Robin, our initial vision was of a multi-purpose sipping gin that fell somewhere between a London Dry style and an Old Tom. We wanted to produce a gin with a clean, yet rounded mouthfeel, something that could be served on its own or as part of a great cocktail. It took us around eight months to arrive at our final recipe, testing over a hundred or so distillations and blends before coming back to the magical Number Sixty One.”

5. Do any of your profits go to charity and do you have a sustainable plan?

“We work closely with our two nominated local charities, Whirlow Hall Farm Trust, and Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Strong ethical and environmental values can be seen in the fact that we only use 100% British wheat-based spirit, made locally, and of exceptional quality, while also sourcing organic, natural botanicals where possible – not just for their incredible flavour, but to be closer to all that is natural, eliminating chemicals, and pollutants. We believe in Fair Trade where possible – so growers, harvesters, and farmers are fairly rewarded – minimising the exploitation of land and labour.

“All our products are created, produced, distilled, bottled, and packed at our distillery, with clearly defined labelling to ensure they are not misleading. Our recyclable glass bottles are made 59 miles from the distillery, minimising shipping impact on the environment. We only use electricity at the distillery (no gas) which has been renewably sourced since 2020. We minimise waste in many ways: all our spent botanicals are composted; our condenser water is recycled rather than pouring it down the drain; paper, cardboard, glass, and plastic are recycled; we use plant based compostable tasting cups at all events.”

6. Anything else you would like to add?

“Finally, we believe there is nothing more rewarding than sharing our love and passion for the products we create through activities, talks, classes, and tastings so that others can enjoy or be inspired by our journey.”
